And in only
slightly less exciting news, on Saturday, Number One Daughter's BF's team won the
silver medal at the 2007 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships.
The Stanford men's varsity eight boat tied for SECOND Saturday ... to record the highest finish in Stanford's history. Stanford's time of 5:34.125 equaled Harvard's showing as both clubs were just six-tenths of a second behind winner Washington (5:33.165) in a dramatic race.
(#1 is Stanford, #2 Harvard, #3 Washington. What a finish! CLARIFICATION: Those are the boats' lane positions, not finishing positions!)
(Showing off the hardware! Or, err, something!)
(L-R, U. of Wisconsin coxswain, the BF, and NOD.)

WELL. DONE!
you wanna fly out to boulder at the end of september and run the boulder backroads half marathon with me!?!?!?
Yeah! You're back! You'll be running a 10K in no time flat.
3 miles! Awesome! And silver to NOD is not too shabby either - excellence is obviously in her genes. You go!
That's a beautiful park where they held the regatta. Rowing is such an exciting sport. I went there to watch my nephew race at the preparatory school level a week earlier and a wag at work asked me, So, tell me, is, uh, watching rowing as exciting as watching a 26.2 mile race?
3 miles, maaaate you are on your way back :)
and may I say "phwoar!" about NOD's BF? Also "well done" of course!
Do you have a NTD? I'm just asking.
great job keep up the good work!!!
nice work!!!!!!!!!!!
That's awesome!! Way to go NOD!
whoo hoo!
how exciting! what a finish. i'm sure i've tied before. i think for 692nd out of 1000 runners, but i'm sure we were neck and neck. perhaps had i worn the same get up as NOD's bf...
That's some serious accomplishment! Ok, yeah, the rowing thing was pretty good too :-)
