...after Jerry claims that his life always seem to be able to even itself out, Elaine tests his theory by throwing $20 out the window.Today I walked my fastest mile ever, because I had a nice rabbit in front of me and I was damned and determined to overtake him. So we had a thang going for a while.
But.
I won.
Here are the numbers:
Mile 1: 14:58
Mile 2: 14:43
Mile 3: 13:44
(Yes those are minutes per MILE.) And that's my very very first sub-14-minute-walking mile!
As I smoked this guy, who was about five seconds behind me, and who had been glancing over his shoulder for the past two miles to watch as I stuck to him like glue, finally passing him in the last 1/2 mile, we both laughed, and I said, "Dang, you're fast!"
And he said: "So are you!"
(And Number One Daughter, now home from college, also out on the trail, said "Mom, remember when you could barely run that pace?" Yes, indeed I do!)
So, take that, roller-blading lady!
I'm fast!
At something!
Finally!

I was thinking the same thing NOD said. Well done!
Do you have that funky hip swaying motion the speedwalkers do?
Love that little "days till I can run" countdown timer. :)
Keep being speedy. Congrats.
Have you memorized every Seinfeld episode?
Go go go girl!!!
Yup, same thought as NOD. Some people aren't able to run that.
Gees! I struggle to walk a 15 minute mile for five minutes! I say walking that fast is even harder than running that fast!
Excellent! Sometimes I have trouble running that fast!
Awesome job!!
You shmoked it! Way to go! Yeah, I think you could pass me running at that pace. And you could make a snide comment like roller blade beyotch. But you wouldn't. Cause you're a nice person.
Awesome! Anybody walking that fast would have an easy time getting away if, the next time roller blade lady passed them she kind of accidently fell down - through no fault of said fast walker.
Ha! you gritted your teeth and flattened that rabbit!
She was actually racing this random man on the trail...it looked kind of creepy! But she did kick his butt in the end!! way to go!!
Wow, that is crazy fast!!
Very speedy. Do you like walking? I walked the Race for the Cure on Sunday and couldn't wait to be done. And that was walking with friends!
Nice job lady! Walking fast is much harder than running. But I see by your counter, you will be back at it soon.
you're back baby!! (George Costanza like line)! great job!
Looks like you've become the rabbit now!! :) Keep it up!
Excellent pace, esp. on that last mile! I'd be hard-pressed to walk that fast.
Keep it up-great last mile.
It's great to see you back in action and quickly catching up to where you left off before the surgery. You go, girl.
