The New Humility

(Photo, courtesy Coach Peter.)

Me and R., DC Road Runners 10K group, two weeks ago. R. has severe (and painful) arthritis in his knee and needs a replacement but is holding off so that he can continue to run.

R. is a trooper, and soon left me in the dust.

Enough to keep a person (me) humble—and grateful for what I can do.

You look so relaxed. way to not keep moving. You'll be back running in no time.

You did a great job administering the TKG, Jeanne, thanks! You were running really well before the surgery, and your hard work since then for the program, and your steadfastedness in walking your way back to recovery, were and are inspiring! I'll come by the finish line at Army to watch the culmination of your complete recovery!
