Snow! Ice! Cold! Heat Wave!

Yes, tomorrow's weather forecast is for 50F.

Last night, I looked out my window around 5 p.m. and this is what I saw:

Snow squall!

In other news, here is the other awesome present I got for my birthday, from a close friend, in fact one of the MAIN people who inspired me to start running. She's 54, and still winning her age groups. This woman rolls out of bed in the morning and decides to do a triathlon...and then wins it! Plus, she's tall and slender and gorgeous. And incredibly nice, so it makes it very difficult to you know, be unbelievably jealous and envious. As if!

I think this means I can't stop running. Sigh. It also means I will never be left by the side of the path, friendless and SOL!

What a great present!

Speaking of inspiration, I was thinking today about this l'il ol' blog, and trying to remember why I started it. What I remembered is being inspired by reading another blogger, none other than 26.2 miles vs. Naomi, who I bet inspired many of you, too. She was then training for her first marathon, and wrote hilarious recaps of her experiences. She is an awesome writer. So, Naomi, to you I tip my blog cap.

Who inspired you to start blogging? Tell us, and then tell them!

Happy Presidents' Day!

Funny you should mention your first blogspiration- reading yours has inspired me to create one too (as of last night)! I just discovered yours recently, so I've started from the beginning (up to May 06), and have really enjoyed following your journey. I look foward to continuing watching your path unfold! Thanks for the blogspiration!

Yes, a heat wave is coming (40's-50's), just don't mind that pesky snow squall!

Happy birthday, cool RoadID!

I started my blog in June '06 when I started C25K! Cool question:-)

Aww. Thanks for the hat tip, Jeanne. I don't know who my blogspiration was (I used to read tons of random blogs) but I do know that all my running blogger friends continually inspire me to keep running.

That first photo is gorgeous! And Happy Birthday, the ID thing is neat, too bad all your info scratched off.. hard to find good quality these days geesh ;) :)

I actually started my blog without even knowing other run blogs existed..silly me thought I was the first one LOL. I'm so glad I did a search within blogger for running and eventually discovered RBF!!!

My comment started to turn into a blog entry so one of these days prepare to see a blog entry about how you introduced me to the RBF. But the path there was pretty twisty hence, the length.

I had started writing other blogs before but nothing really stuck until I found the RBF. There are a few bloggers who inspired me but it was really the RBF as a community who pulled me in and keeps me writing, even if it is infrequently.

I have a road ID, too. GREAT IDEA and wonderful present!

Sandra Ahten of www.reasonablediet.com inspired me to start blogging last summer as I was preparing for the World Wide Half Marathon (ala Steve Runner). I have enjoyed every minute of blogging!

11 days til first marathon...

You can blame my chronic abuse of your running and other nasty habits on Susie.

Yes, I have had a couple of wins but I attribute my success to finding the races I have a possiblity of winning. The "first annual" is a good sign, the "clydesdale division" another, the "survivor" category (being single breasted has it's advantages), 3 mile "marathons" are not heavily contested. I did win a pair of Sauconys in a race in Pittsburgh about 27 years ago ... was running popular then? How'd I do that? I know Saucony won me....I've been wearing them ever since. LOVE YOU!

WHEW!!! I haven't been getting any feeds from your blog in several weeks and I was so bummed you weren't blogging only to discover this morning that somehow you were dropped from my feed list! Now, here I am catching up and if I'm late for the gym it's going to be YOUR fault.

While I hadn't really gotten into blogs before doing one of my own, there have been a handful of blogs since then that are a continual inspiration to me. BayCityWalker and you are at the very tip top of the list! Funny, honest, bitey, and sweet.
