Thought o' the Day

Since changes are going on anyway, the great thing is to learn enough about them so that we will be able to lay hold of them and turn them in the direction of our desires. Conditions and events are neither to be fled from nor passively acquiesced in; they are to be utilized and directed.

—John Dewey

I'm for that!

You have no idea how timely and perfect this quote is for me. Or maybe you do. In any case - Thanks!

You are presuming you have the ability to direct changes towards your desires.

John Dewey and Pragmatism. Phew. I hope you don't curl up with him every night. Not that that would be a bad thing, of course. After a paragraph or two you would surely succumb to a sound night. But his philosophy is certainly worth reflecting upon. Me, I resist change whenever and wherever I can. I wish they were still selling LPs at Penneys.
