Really, I Really Was Not Born to Run. No Kidding.

According to my workout-o-meter, the last time I worked out was March 25. That is all lies and calumny, of course.

Between then and now I have taken a few bike rides, run/walked a few miles, and taken a few P90x classes at work.

But nothing to write home about.

Or write a blog post about.

I can't believe I ran this only in January.

Back then, I looked 13.1 miles in the face and laughed. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Who's laughing now, eh mon amie??

But in a not-so-triummphant return, this week I laced up my running shoes three times.

THREE.

TIMES.

As in, THRICE.

I am lucky to be finally living in a place where I can walk out my door and turn any which way for a great run. Past the National Cathedral, Cactus Cantina, or up to American University.

If only I could actually run, this would be ideal.

I am back to run/walking. And up to a grand total of: three miles.

In case you were wondering what would happen if you take some time off from running, this is what happens.

You kind of just lose it.

You get to start all over again.

It's fun!

Almost as fun as being a really slow runner!

Which I was kind of getting over.

I shall return, my friends.

Yay! You're ahead of me! My first run back after baby was 15 minutes long. I thought I was going to die. I haven't been back yet. But, I do believe our re-done leisure centre now has a creche, so I can get myself started so that when the little man's old enough for a jogger stroller, I will be ready to go!

I like the idea of a nice run to Cactus Cantina for some frozen margaritas. I mean, you earned it, right? 3 miles! You may need to take a cab back though ;)

Ah, so YOU'RE the reason 21CM finally posted. Yay you for that and yay to you for starting it up again. The hard part is done, now just make it stick. You've done it before; you know you can do it.

Come on girl - you're back in the saddle.. Don't let those 3 milers slip away from you. Great to have you back, and back on the road too. Bring a camera next time and record the scenery!

Good for you for getting back out there though!!! I'm in Marine Corps Marathon training right now and it took me 6 weeks of running 4times a week to actually feel like it wasn't a complete struggle anymore. So keep it up!

Three times in one week is a good start. Don't be discouraged. Muscle-memory means you'll be back up to speed in no time. Just keep running. (and blogging--we've all missed you!)

What's happening with the boy?

I thinks I can say that I was born to run because I to run and I can't live w/o it.

Wow! Good to hear that... Running is a good exercise. I'm an asthmatic person when I was in high school. When I started going to college, I joined ROTC, we are really obliged to run, I don't have choice. At first It was a tiring activity, but as time goes by I starting to love it. I'm so thankful that running and good exercise healed my asthma. Lets keep running and be healthy.

It's bad to fall off the wagon of running. You're up to running three times a week more 'n I am. Welcome back.

It's okay we all start learn to walk first before mastering the art and science of running.

I just created a running blog too, and like you, I was not born to run. This is nice to read though, because I feel like if you can run AND have time for family and life, I need to stop complaining! Any tips on sneakers? I bought a pair a year ago that just don't seem to fit me right.
