I'm book marking you. You have no idea how glad I am to know there is another "older" runner out there who can put into words exactly how I feel. Right now I am going through the marathon from hell training program. Basically, if it can go wrong, it has. I hate running right now but at the same time I don't know who to stop. It's like a very bad accident, I just can't look away. So, I've committed to the MCM this year and will probably come and run my worst time ever. At least I'll work in a nice visit with my daughter while I'm down there. Sigh.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13425555.post-74329110934119065942008-08-30T09:25:00.000-04:002008-08-30T09:25:00.000-04:00i'm not happy with running right now either. maybe...i'm not happy with running right now either. maybe running is nasty to me because it's not getting the love from you? it's your fault.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13425555.post-48985556077862994302008-08-27T22:32:00.000-04:002008-08-27T22:32:00.000-04:00A brilliant post! I've been to the fast side, left the fast side, tried to come back to the fast side, and finally had to concede. Now I'm happy to get 11 min. miles, and odd as it seems, my runs after a bike always go much better and somewhat faster. Go figure. Maybe you can trick your legs by riding for 15 min. to warm up and see what happens? Not trying to put that age factor in there, but I'm feeling it myself. So often we get caught up in trying to measure up to what others are doing (been there, done that) and what you think they think you should be doing (follow that??), but the truth is, whatever you do, as long as you do what you can is really going to be okay.Vickiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12302710072433158197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13425555.post-30341009744195446612008-08-27T08:11:00.000-04:002008-08-27T08:11:00.000-04:00I need to nick your letter and send it to my runni...I need to nick your letter and send it to my running, I wonder if it will pay attention.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13425555.post-26913735584789325832008-08-26T23:47:00.000-04:002008-08-26T23:47:00.000-04:00Grasshoppah - some days you are the dog, some days...Grasshoppah - some days you are the dog, some days you are the hydrant.

Perseverance furthers.21stCenturyMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02370504811536749950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13425555.post-54589880134609354072008-08-26T21:57:00.000-04:002008-08-26T21:57:00.000-04:00I am sure you don't need anymore advice but here i...I am sure you don't need anymore advice but here is my 2 cents: run regularly with a person who is slightly faster for pacing. It sounds like you are running in your comfort zone. You need to be pulled out of it to see improvement. Since I am a cyclist I can only apply what I do on the bike to get faster. It hurts but it works.ItchyBitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14689105039645020348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13425555.post-46110495795583163272008-08-26T20:07:00.002-04:002008-08-26T20:07:00.002-04:00My dear dear Jeanne,Have you not come to know the ...My dear dear Jeanne,
Have you not come to know the pain?
